What is Counselling & Psychotherapy

Counselling & Psychotherapy is a talking therapy that provides a safe space to explore together any difficulties that you may be having. People come for counselling for many different reasons; you could be feeling depressed, isolated, anxious, or struggling with relationship issues, abuse, bereavement, illness, work-related challenges, or many other difficulties.  It is an opportunity to look at past experiences (such as those in childhood), experiences in the present and any patterns that may be repeating in your life and relationships.  This may help you come to terms with what you are experiencing and live your life as fully as possible.

Exploring your issues within a supportive, compassionate, non-judgmental therapeutic relationship, provides the safe space to experience a healing relationship within an ethical, boundaried framework.  Humanistic & Integrative Psychotherapy focuses on the developmental and relational aspects of human relationship with a focus on the here and now.

As a Humanistic and Integrative therapist, I intrinsically believe that everyone has the capacity to move forward and reach their full potential, experience their whole self and their uniqueness.  My personal experience of psychotherapy has led me to trust in the value of the therapeutic relationship, and through this contactful presence, we have the capacity for change, can heal trauma and integrate disowned or denied parts of ourselves that arose due to early relational needs not being met.
